Both me and my husband Bret have had the opportunity to be around successful and less successful teams during the height of their careers. All the successful teams had similar qualities and characteristics. They realized that the main reason for their success was because of their winning attitude, but not the one you'd expect. Each person wanted to help make the people around them be the best they could be by supporting and encouraging them. This meant putting others before themselves, and not caring if that meant someone could take their job. People with this winning attitude put others' success in front of their own, and in return, their team mates did the same for them. Their team members supported them to be the very best they could be.
In this environment, like-minded people were more interested in making others better, which became the heartbeat of their team. That heartbeat creates a rhythm that drives the team forward, giving each individual confidence because they are being supported to be their best, which in turn creates a confident team. A successful team. A winning team.
Learning this lesson has inspired me and put me on a mission to Make Others Better (MOB), which makes us all better! I believe that a person is at their best when they’re allowed to show the world all that they are, and have the confidence to do so. When someone has been helped and supported by others around them, they are happy and confident. And, by receiving help from others, they are also helping the people around them be better too. I believe that when you have this type of MOB environment, people are allowed to share their strengths and abilities and you will truly see the best in that person, and they will see the best in you. When you have this type of environment, it’s where the magic happens. It’s where ideas are made. It’s where championships are won. It’s where happiness lives, and the world is a better place.
Ask yourself - are you someone who wants to make others better? What are you doing daily to lift others' up? We are looking for people to join me and the Tsuya MOB who are committed to making the world a better place one moment at a time. People who think of others instead of thinking of themselves, and in return those same people lift them up and allow them to shine. In the coming months, I'll be introducing members of the Tsuya MOB to you. I'm so excited to share with you their passion and how they're working to make others better every single day.
